8th Grade Farewell

As our students move on from Blue Valley Middle, the school and PTO would like to honor them, celebrate them, reminisce over the past 3 years, and make this a special memory for them!
With the District finalizing the end of year calendar, our BVMS 8th Grade Farewell will take place Wednesday, May 20th, which is a full day of school. The final day of school will be a half-day on Thursday, May 21st.
FAREWELL DAY

7:45am Gym Doors open for Ceremony
(Note: This is also the end of student drop-off time.
Please park only in designated spaces - not the grass - and be prepared to walk.)
8-9AM Ceremony - BVMS Gym at BVMS
9-9:45AM Courtyard Reception and Family Photos Time
10AM Students change to Class t-shirts and start loading buses to Main Event

To Recap:
1. Register and pay $25 for your student here. Let Mr. Salsgiver know if you need assistance with the fee.
2. Don't forget your student's tshirt size on the form! This is unisex shirt sizing. Size up when in doubt. These shirts run a little small and are cotton.
3. Email a baby pic (labeled Lastname_baby.jpg) AND current pic (labeled Lastname_8thgrade.jpg) to Ms. Eckert at sneckert@bluevalleyk12.org with Subject: 8th grade slideshow.

Event OVERVIEW
Your student's final full day of middle school will begin with a formal ceremony in the gym. Families are invited to attend, as the school acknowledges their accomplishments and wishes them well on their high school journey. Students are asked to dress up for the ceremony.
After the ceremony, families and students are invited to move into the school courtyard for a brief reception. This is your opportunity to take photos and congratulate your student and their friends.
As families depart, students will change into their provided class t-shirts. Please send casual clothing with your student to wear. They will then board buses to a fun activity.
Students will return to BVMS by bus, and will be dismissed for the day at the usual dismissal time of 3pm. All students must ride the bus to AND from BVMS.
Please note that students cannot be checked out from the activity site. If you plan to check your student out early, work with the school ahead of time to do so once they return to the building.
*Date is subject to change based on last day of school, determined by the BVSD BOE after Spring Break. Celebration generally occurs on the last full day of school before summer break.
