7:45am Ceremony - Families welcome! After the Ceremony, families are welcome to join their students for a brief Reception in the BVMS Courtyard
10am - Students will take buses to Main Event for lunch and fun
2pm - Students will return to school

As our students move on from Blue Valley Middle, the school and PTO would like to honor them, celebrate them, reminisce over the past 3 years, and make this a special memory for them!

Ceremony

There will be a ceremony for families on the celebration day at 7:45am. Families are invited to attend, and time will be provided for pictures after the ceremony during a short reception in the courtyard.

After the ceremony, students will change into their 8th Grade Farewell t-shirts and board buses to Main Event in Olathe!

Fees

PTO and Rock N Run fundraising are paying for the majority of 8th Grade Farewell this year! Families are asked to each contribute $25 to cover the remainder of the event. Click Here to make your contribution.

Slideshow

It is tradition at Blue Valley Middle School to have an end of year slide show including each 8th grader as we celebrate their transition to high school. Please send 2 pictures of your child to sneckert@bluevalleyk12.org. Please read below for the specific naming conventions and requirements.

Each family should email in a baby/toddler picture and a current picture of their 8th grader. These photos should have their faces at the center of the photo and be fairly high quality. To avoid confusion all of the photos should be renamed in the following convention and saved as a .jpg before emailing to sneckert@bluevalleyk12.org: LASTNAME_BABY.jpg and LASTNAME_8thGrade.jpg.

We look forward to celebrating with your student this May and appreciate all of the photos being emailed to sneckert@bluevalleyk12.org by February 29, 2024.

T-Shirts

Students will receive a t-shirt on the day of the Farewell. They will change from their nice clothes into their t-shirts following the ceremony and pictures and wear them for the duration of the day.
